Frank Scotto Endorsed By Former Hermosa Beach Mayor George Barks

TORRANCE– George Barks, retired Mayor of Hermosa Beach, CA, has given his endorsement to former Torrance Mayor, local small business owner, and active philanthropist Frank Scotto in his campaign for California State Assembly.

Regarding his endorsement, Barks stated, “Frank is a good man who truly understands the needs of this community and of the average Californian. In the Assembly, I know he will be a strong advocate for small businesses and will enact policies that support economic growth. I am proud to offer him my support.”

Frank developed his civic-mindedness at a young age, when he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A 60 year resident of the City of Torrance, Scotto began his career in public service as a commissioner on the city’s Civil Service Commission. He was later elected to the City Council and appointed to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. In 2006 and again in 2010, Scotto was elected Mayor of Torrance.

In addition to his commitment as a public servant, Frank volunteers much of his time with various local organizations, including the Arts Council of Torrance, Torrance Sister City Association, the Torrance Rose Float Association, and the Chambers of Commerce of Torrance, Redondo Beach, and Lomita.

Frank Scotto is the former Mayor of Torrance. He is running for State Assembly in the 66th Assembly District, which encompasses much of the South Bay of Los Angeles.
