Los Angeles officially proclaims August 1 as “KCON Day” in honor of the world’s largest K-POP fan and artist festival
LAPost/Los Angeles, CA – August 4, 2025 — KCON LA 2025, presented by Olive Young, came to a thrilling close on Sunday, August 3, after three days of electrifying performances, fan interactions, and cultural exhibitions at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena. Drawing a record-breaking 125,000 attendees and featuring 37 acts, 107 companies, and 358 booths, this year’s event was the most expansive in KCON history.
In a historic first, KCON LA 2025 was livestreamed globally via Prime Video and Twitch, thanks to a new partnership with Amazon Music. The streams brought KCON’s high-energy performances and fan experiences to millions of virtual viewers worldwide, further cementing the event’s global reach. Amazon also used the opportunity to unveil a brand-new curated K-pop playlist on its music platform.
Marking a milestone moment, the City of Los Angeles officially designated August 1 as “KCON Day”, recognizing the festival’s cultural, social, and economic impact since its debut in 2012. The resolution—co-sponsored by City Councilmembers John Lee, Katy Yaroslavsky, Curren Price, and Heather Hutt—highlights KCON’s decade-long contribution to the city’s cultural landscape, tourism industry, and global profile.
“Having KCON officially designated as ‘KCON Day’ in Los Angeles — the birthplace of our global journey — gives us an even greater sense of purpose,” said Harry H.K. Shin, Head of Music Entertainment at CJ ENM. “We’re deeply grateful for the support of the city, the artists, and most of all, the fans who make this event possible year after year.”
This year’s star-studded lineup included NCT 127, MONSTA X, ZEROBASEONE, izna, HxW (SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi & Woozi), Jackson Wang, IVE, Aespa, Hwasa, and many more. KCON’s signature DREAM STAGE returned, giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on stage alongside their favorite idols—one of the most anticipated moments of the weekend.
The X STAGE spotlighted rising K-pop acts and hosted a special fan meet-up with Yim Siwan, the K-pop star-turned-actor known for Misaeng and Squid Game. The X STAGE once again proved to be a springboard for rookies seeking global recognition.
Beyond the concerts, the K-COLLECTION exhibition zone featured over 50 Korean small and medium-sized businesses, showcasing cutting-edge beauty, food, fashion, and tech brands. Highlights included interactive booths by Tous Les Jours, CJ CheilJedang, and a hands-on K-Story & Comics area where fans explored trending mobile webtoons.
CJ ENM, the Korean entertainment powerhouse behind KCON, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Known for producing award-winning global content like Parasite and Kinky Boots, CJ ENM continues to lead the global expansion of Korean culture through music, drama, film, and festivals like KCON and the MAMA AWARDS.
Since its inception in 2012, KCON has grown from 10,000 attendees in Anaheim to now more than 125,000 in 2025, with millions more joining online. Held across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, KCON has become the world’s No. 1 K-culture festival, offering a vital platform for fans and artists to connect.
As KCON LA 2025 wraps up another unforgettable edition, one thing is clear: K-pop is not just a trend—it’s a global movement, and Los Angeles remains its most passionate home.
