About the Event: The Asian Industry B2B cordially invites business leaders to attend our upcoming monthly mixer, a specialforum dedicated to the cause of Asian American film.
This event will feature a panel that includes Minji Chang, a strong advocate for fair Asian representation in Hollywood through her non-profit, Kollaboration, Craig Wilson, founder of Filipino American Creatives, Baldwin Chiu (Only Won), an accomplished rapper, and Larissa Lam, a singer/songwriter in her own right. Baldwin and Larissa, a husband-and-wife team created a short film called “Finding Cleveland”, which features a unique spin to Chinese immigrant communities in Mississippi. Minji Chang has worked extensively with the upcoming all-Asian cast movie, “Crazy Rich Asians” and will be featuring exclusive behind-the-scene clips. All panelists will be sharing their life stories, values and experiences in entertainment, as well as the broader conversation of Asians in Hollywood and the work they do. The venue sponsor this month is Long Toyota.
The monthly mixer has a consistent attendance of between 50 and 200 firms and professionals. In June, around 100 people participated in a forum on human trafficking, while in May over 125 people came to hear the 39th Congressional District debates, featuring the three leading pro-business candidates, Bob Huff, Young Kim and Shawn Nelson. Young Kim would advance into the general election. The AIB2B March Mixer, sponsored by Wells Fargo, featured co-founder of East West Bank, Betty Tom Chu, and attracted almost 200 people. Those in attendance include influential political and community leaders.
About Asian Industry B2B (AIB2B): AIB was founded by community leader, Marc Ang, for businesses and professionals in the east San Gabriel Valley to gather once a month, every second Wednesday. The mission is to build an intimate network of quality professionals engaged in charity, cultural and political activities, to foster meaningful collaborations, enrich business owners’ lives and support a platform to elevate the Asian American community through local business leaders.
