EL MONTE, CA — Democratic State Senate candidate Mike Eng announced a list of additional local elected leaders who have joined a broad, diverse coalition of local officials who support his campaign for State Senate. Mike, an experienced educator, attorney and public servant, is running to succeed Senator Ed Hernandez in the San Gabriel Valley’s 22nd District. Mike is dominating the contest for local support and is the only candidate that has over 100 local mayors, councilmembers, and school board members from cities throughout the San Gabriel Valley’s 22nd State Senate district.
The newly announced officials were:
Baldwin Park Mayor Manuel Lozano
Baldwin Park Councilwoman Monica Garcia
Covina Mayor Walt Allen III

All of the best-known District leaders – including incumbent Senator Ed Hernandez, Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger, Congressmembers Judy Chu and Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Ed Chau – are supporting Mike.
Mike Eng previously served in the State Assembly, on the L.A. Community College District Board of Trustees, and on the Monterey Park City Council.
