LA Fleet Week 5 On 5 Basketball Tournament

Calling all hoops fans! Join us over Labor Day Weekend for a friendly, two-day match-up between Sea Services teams (US Navy, US Marines, US Coast Guard, and the Royal Canadian Navy) and our very own L.A. City teams (law enforcement, first responders, and city government) for our 3rd annual LA Fleet Week 5 On 5 Basketball Tournament.

This two-day, single-elimination tournament will take place on the basketball court, located in the outdoor event footprint (directly adjacent to the Battleship Iowa), on Saturday, September 1st, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Sunday, September 2nd, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. To encourage team spirit, Los Angeles based pro-athletic team cheerleaders will energize the court with live performances during Day 2 of the tournament. The final two teams will play for the title of “5 on 5 Champion” on Sunday at 12:00 noon. The team that earns the 2018 trophy (Coasties took it home in 2017!) will compete against a Celebrity team on Sunday at 1:00 pm to bring the competition to a close.

So come on out and root for your favorite team! And who knows? You may just spot one of your favorite NBA players gracing the stands (like Metta World Peace, 2017). Alley oop!
