MEXICAN AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION PAC (MABA PAC) ENDORSES MIKE ENG FOR STATE SENATE
EL MONTE, CA — The Mexican American Bar Association (MABA) PAC, one of the most influential Latino organizations in California and comprised of members that are attorneys, civic leaders and business people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, announced their endorsement of Democrat Mike Eng for the open 22nd State Senate District.
MABA PAC’s mission is to empower the Latino community to be more involved in civic affairs and elect civic leaders (judicial and non-judicial) that will ensurethat the American dream is available to people from all backgrounds. MABA PAC supports diversity in the executive, judicial and legislative branches of government and the legal profession. MABA PAC supports candidates and ballot propositions that advance the needs of our community in the areas of public policy, political, social and economic empowerment.
In announcing their endorsement, MABA PAC President Felipe Plascencia stated “The Mexican-American Bar Association PAC is proud to support Mike Eng for State Senate because he has the courage to stand up to Trump and the Republican leaders — and fight for working families. We can count on Mike to work for better schools, safer neighborhoods, quality jobs and affordable health care for ALL” Plascencia concluded.
Mike’s campaign for State Senate had a resounding 19-point margin and placed first on June 5th 2018 primary election, with over 45% of the vote. Mike has continued to build momentum after the primary by earning endorsements from former Senate Candidate and Baldwin Park Councilwoman Monica Garcia, who joined other major endorsers such as Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the California National Organization for Women, California Federation of Labor, the California Democratic Party, and the vast majority of local elected officials from communities within the 22nd State Senate District. All of the best-known District leaders – including incumbent Senator Ed Hernandez, Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger, Congressmembers Judy Chu and Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Ed Chau – are supporting Mike.
Mike Eng previously served in the State Assembly, on the L.A. Community College District Board of Trustees, and on the Monterey Park City Council.
