“James Cahill and Zhi Garden International Symposium” held in Beijing
James Cahill and Zhiyuan Garden: An International Symposium on China-U.S. Garden Cultural, held on December 8th in Beijing and the symposium was co-hosted by Beijing Forestry University and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture.
Some 10 leading researchers and experts from China and U.S. as keynote speakers gathered to address the finding missing garden Zhi Garden with 2 countries scholars joint efforts, the symposium attracted about 300 audiences.
As most respected politicians in Los Angeles area, California State senator Ben Allen and Chair of Los Angeles County board of supervisor Janice Hahn sent their commendation certificates to the symposium organizers, scholars and Los Angeles County Art of Museum (LACMA) which dedicated the talents and efforts jointly from the clues of a set of ancient Chinese paintings in finding the 400 years historical private garden which disappeared about 100 years ago.
Keynote speakers and panelists are Chen Lihua, Wu Huan, Cao Xun, Li Xiong ,Jia Jun, Xin Juan , He Yong, Huang Xiao, Liu Shanshan, Chi ZhongRui, Wu ZhiGang, Zhao Baole, Kong Wan, Einor Cervone, Guo Lishuang, Meng Zhaozhen, Sarah Cahill, Zhang Jian, Hong Zaixin, Wang Xiangrong, Skip Sweeney, Kendall Brown, Zhao Danping, etc.
Cultures exchange will help ease current tensions between the US and China and will contribute to increasing understanding between the peoples of the two countries, in finding Zhi Garden, two countries scholars’ collaboration set up a very typical and meaning case, said Richard Ren, president of Chinese American Institute for Public Diplomacy.
