Small Plane Crashes Into Backyard in Yorba Linda
The Orange County Fire Authority reported that at least two homes were on fire in the area of Kellogg Drive and Orangethrope Avenue after a small aircraft crashed into the backyard of a home in Yorba Linda on Sunday afternoon.
The Cessna 414A had just departed the Fullerton Municipal Airport when the incident happened under unknown circumstances,
A Cessna 414A went down, colliding with a home on Sunday, according to Allen Kenitzer, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Two houses were burning near the 19000 block of Canyon Drive at approximately 2 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority.
Local authorities said there were injuries on the ground, but did not immediately say how severely or how many people were hurt.
The aircraft had just departed from the Fullerton Municipal airport, and it is unclear what might have caused it to crash, or if there were any passengers on board at the time, according to Kenitzer.
