U.S. Navy Blue Angels to Fly Over Los Angeles Sunday

WHO:    U.S. NAVY Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team

WHAT:    Los Angeles residents in some areas will be treated to a brief flyover of the US Navy’s elite Blue Angels on Sunday evening as they do an orientation tour over the City. The 20-minute flight will be considerate of noise sensitive areas.

WHEN:    Sunday September 22 between 6:00pm and 7:00pm

WHERE:    The planned route is to enter the San Fernando Valley from the northwest to Burbank Airport, Dodger Stadium, circle Downtown LA to the Observatory and the Hollywood sign, across LAX and down to the Harbor over the Battleship IOWA at the Port of Los Angeles. Residents in nearby areas should be able to see them from open areas.

WHY:    The Blue Angels will be transitioning from their Central Valley show this weekend and heading to San Diego for their next performance. For more details on show locations, please visit www.blueangels.navy.mil.

The special Blue Angels flyover comes on the heels of a highly successful LA Fleet Week®, the largest military and veterans event in the City of Los Angeles. Over 1,200 active service members from the US Navy, US Marine Corps and US Coast Guard visited during the week-long event, interacting with hundreds of thousands of Angelinos and visitors from across the Southland. LA Fleet Week® featured ship tours, static displays, region-wide performances by the US Navy Band and service member excursions and activities across Southern California, including Children’s Hospital, Habitat for Humanity and the Saint Francis Center. LA Fleet Week® 2020 is scheduled for September 1 – 7.
