DEMOCRATIC DELEGATES RALLY AROUND MELISSA FOX IN ASSEMBLY BID
Melissa Fox Garners Support of California Democratic Party Delegates in Grassroots Campaign for Assembly District 68
IRVINE, CA – In a reflection of her extensive support from Democratic activists, today Irvine City Councilmember Melissa Fox secured critical support from eligible delegates at the California Democratic Party’s Pre-Endorsement Conference, earning 72% of the vote from the 68th Assembly District Caucus and ensuring that her name will be considered for automatic endorsement at the upcoming CDP Convention. Any candidate who receives over 70% of the vote at the pre-endorsement conference is placed on the consent calendar at the California Democratic Convention for the party’s official endorsement.
Reflecting on the announced support, Fox remarked:
“I’m incredibly honored to have the support of the Assembly District 68 delegates at the CDP Pre-Endorsement Conference. These dedicated grassroots activists give a voice to the many voiceless in our communities as they organize and work tirelessly to elect Democratic leaders who reflect Democratic Party values and principles. I am deeply grateful for their support of my campaign for Assembly and look forward to working with these inspiring delegates to tirelessly fight for the issues we care so much about.”
Last week, Fox earned the recommendation of the Orange County Labor Federation. The OC Labor Federation represents over 90 local unions and hundreds of thousands of working families in Orange County.
Recently, Fox’s campaign announced that she had outraised her opponent, Steven Choi, more than 2:1, with Fox’s campaign bringing in a significant $174,515, while Choi only raised $77,785.
