Intl conference focusing on AI technology to be held in Jinan

Jinan, capital of eastern China’s Shandong province, will host an international conference focusing on the development of artificial intelligence technology from Nov 19 to 20, local media reported.

The conference will gather experts in the field and representatives from colleges, institutions and companies to share experience and explore the world’s latest AI technologies.

The conference consists of a main forum, sub-forums, an exposition and a project-docking conference.

The event is designed to provide an international platform for technological exchange, industrial integration and cooperation to bolster Shandong’s high-quality development.

Artificial intelligence in Shandong province has seen rapid growth in recent years and a strong industry around the technology has begun to take shape.

As the political, economic, cultural, and financial center of Shandong province, Jinan boasts potential advantages in developing the AI industry.

The city has already developed a batch of core technologies relating to chips, identification and sensing, as well as several high-end products in the fields of intelligent robotics, manufacturing, medical treatment and transportation.

The city has also cultivated a batch of innovation service platforms to provide strong support for basic research, collaborative innovation and achievement commercialization in the AI industry.

Officials said that the city will speed up development of the artificial intelligence sector. Jinan is expected to become an artificial intelligence innovation and application demonstration city in the near future.
