CALIFORNIA YOUNG DEMOCRATS ENDORSE JOSH NEWMAN FOR STATE SENATE

Newman’s Rematch SD-29 Bid Garners Critical Endorsement from Youth Arm of California Democratic Party

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — In recognition of his record of standing up for issues important to young Californians, today U.S. Army veteran, businessman, and former State Senator Josh Newman earned another influential endorsement, from the California Young Democrats (CYD). CYD is the official youth arm of the California Democratic Party, comprised of people ages 14-35.

In a statement released with the endorsement, CYD President Will Rodriguez-Kennedy said:

“During his time in the State Senate, Josh Newman championed the issues important to young people, and the California Young Democrats are thrilled to endorse him once again. When he returns to Sacramento, we’re confident that Josh will again work to combat climate change, fight to improve our K-12 education system, and make colleges and universities more affordable. We know Josh will also work to create a fairer economy which will level the playing field for everyday Californians. We’re proud to support his campaign for State Senate and are excited to help him take back the 29th.”

Newman released the following statement acknowledging CYD’s endorsement:

“I’m honored and grateful to receive CYD’s endorsement. Young activists are an important source of energy and ultimately the future of our party.  The stakes in this election go beyond the immediate and will have huge implications for successive generations of Californians.  I’m excited to be able to count on the support of the California Young Democrats in my campaign to return to the State Senate.”

Newman’s campaign also recently released a new digital video ad, titled “Better Senator,” which highlights his independent, common-sense approach to public service and features the campaign’s branded ice cream truck, allowing voters the opportunity to talk about important issues with the former Senator and his team while enjoying a complimentary “Better Senator” ice cream sandwich. To find out more about upcoming destinations for the “Better Senator,” follow @BetterSenatorCA on Twitter and Instagram or visit BetterSenator.com.
