Medal design for Jinan winter swimming invitational unveiled

The city of Jinan, capital of eastern China’s Shandong province, unveiled the medal design for the upcoming 8th Winter Springs-swimming (Daming Lake) International Invitational to be held  next month, according to local officials.

The medal features a hollow design, with the shape of Guanlan Pavilion, a landmark of Baotu Spring Park, appearing like a window one can peep through to take in the city’s scenic views.

On the obverse, three splashes of Baotu Spring gush out, representing vitality. The title and the theme of the event are engraved, harmoniously integrating with the design.

The 8th Winter Springs-swimming (Daming Lake) International Invitational of 2020, will be staged on Jan 11-12.

As the only winter swimming competition in the world to be held in spring waters, the invitational has become a famous event both in China and abroad.

Officials said the organizing committee will launch a medal series showcasing eight distinctive Jinan sights in the future Jinan international winter swimming competition.
