Jinan unveils 5-year-plan to attract global supercomputing talents
The National Supercomputing Center in Jinan, Shandong province will implement a new initiative over the next five years to attract talents from home and abroad.
The center plans to attract 100 leading professionals in the field of supercomputing and 1,000 outstanding doctors from home and abroad, and will try to cultivate over 10,000 postdoctoral, doctoral, master’s and undergraduate talents in the fields of high-performance computing, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, mathematics, computer network and network space security.
To this end, the center is providing incentives such as an annual salary of at least 1.5 million yuan ($211,658.13) and housing subsidies of at least 5 million yuan.
Scientific research start-up funds of no less than 10 million yuan will also be offered.
The annual income of post-doctoral degree holders who enter mobile postdoctoral stations will range from 200,000 to 400,000 yuan.
The National Supercomputing Center in Jinan will focus on China’s strategic needs in the fields of information, ocean, security, new energy and new materials, and life and health in the next five to ten years.
The center is striving to become a world-class professional research and service institution in the field of intelligent computing and information processing technology.
