California Governor Newsom Announces Appointment

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the following appointment:

 

Chloe Osmer, 43, of Los Angeles, has been appointed special assistant to the labor commissioner in the California Labor Commissioner’s Office. Osmer has been organizing director and chief of staff at the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor since 2017. She was senior organizer at the AFL-CIO from 2012 to 2017. Osmer was strategic campaign coordinator and director at CLEAN Carwash Campaign from 2008 to 2011. She was communications organizer and interim communications director at the California Labor Federation from 2003 to 2007. Osmer was program coordinator at the University of California, Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education from 1999 to 2001. She earned a Master of Public Policy degree with a labor emphasis at the University of California, Los Angeles. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,996. Osmer is registered without party preference.
