Huawei Releases “Contact Shield API” for Beating COVID-19

This week, Huawei HMS Core added: “Contact Shield API” after updating to version 4.1.0.301.

What is “Huawei Contact Shield”?
A basic contact tracking service based on low energy Bluetooth provided by HMS Core.

Government organizations of various countries can use the Contact Guard API to develop new coronavirus contact and tracking applications.

Main features:

  • On the basis of protecting user privacy, through interworking with other mobile phones, it helps users diagnose whether they have come in contact with a virus-infected person, exchanging data with detected devices, and records the information of such contacts anonymously, thereby reducing the spread of Coronavirus.

  • It uses a dynamically generated anonymous ID, the data will be automatically deleted after the user uninstalls the application.

  • Only application developers authorized by government organizations and strictly reviewed by Huawei can use the HMS Core Contact Shield API.
