de Beaumont Foundation Recognizes Naman Shah as Leader in Public Health
LOS ANGELES – Naman Shah MD, PhD, representing Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, was recognized by the de Beaumont Foundation as one of its new class of 40 Under 40 in Public Health. The 40 Under 40 honorees were chosen by a panel of judges for their leadership and impact on their community’s health.
“At a time when public health professionals are being required to adapt and take on monumental challenges, we are incredibly proud of these leaders,” said Brian C. Castrucci, DrPH, president and CEO of the de Beaumont Foundation. “We created the 40 Under 40 program to recognize and tell the stories of rising leaders who are making a difference in communities across the country. By promoting their work and accomplishments, we hope to attract and inspire a new generation of leaders.”
This year’s list honors leaders from across the country who have strengthened the public health system and made communities healthier. They represent a range of backgrounds and roles, including epidemiologists, emergency response, researchers, and policy analysts in state and local health departments, colleges and universities, and nonprofit organizations.
“Our vaccine team at LA County Public Health came together as a great group: focused, innovative, and with a selfless camaraderie I treasured. I am honored to receive this prestigious distinction as a de Beaumont Foundation 40 Under 40 in Public Health recognizing our all hands on deck efforts alongside 39 other public health leaders who are doing such important work,” said Naman Shah MD, PhD.
