L.A. COUNTY SUPERVISOR BARGER OFFERS $10,000 REWARD FOR RUTHLESS SHOOTING IN LANCASTER

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger today announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for a ruthless shooting that took place in the community of Lancaster.

On December 3, 2021, Mr. Jason Castillo was at first shot while in his vehicle. After dialing 9-1-1 from a nearby gas station, the suspect came back and Mr. Castillo was shot again as he laid helpless on the ground.

“I’m offering this reward as a plea for anyone with information about this ruthless shooting to step forward,” said Supervisor Barger. “The shocking fact that the gunman circled back to find Mr. Castillo, took aim and fired while he was already injured and helpless is deplorable. As leaders of the Lancaster community, we must do all we can to send a clear message to criminals — your actions are unacceptable and justice will be served.”

Detectives from L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Operation Safe Streets (OSS) Bureau responded to the scene and are conducting an extensive investigation into this incident. Anyone with information about this shooting can call the Sheriff’s OSS Bureau Detectives at (661) 948-8466 or dial Detective James Phillips at (310) 601-6064.
