Councilman John Wu Launches Council Campaign with Broad Support at Weekend Kickoff in San Gabriel

San Gabriel, CA – On Saturday, July 2, Councilman John Wu launched his campaign for San Gabriel City Council at a kickoff celebration held at the Sheraton San Gabriel. Councilman Wu was joined by 100’s of supporters to announce his campaign and the broad support he has received from the community including from Congresswoman Judy Chu, Assemblyman Mike Fong and Assemblyman Mike Eng (ret.). He was also joined by L.A. County Assessor Jeffrey Prang, Mayor Tony Ding, and Councilwoman Carina Rivera. Councilman Wu was appointed to the city council by his peers when a vacancy became available and is seeking a full term on the council. “
“Half of my term has already passed, and now 129 days remain until Election Day,” said Councilman Wu. “It has been a tremendous honor to serve our community as a council member, and I hope to continue the work and efforts to support our city and community as best I can. Together, we will build a bright future for San Gabriel.”
Councilman Wu has lived in San Gabriel for 21 years and is a prominent figure in the real estate industry. He is a Certified International Property Specialist Instructor for National Association of REALTORS®; a Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager instructor for Real Estate Business Institute; a California licensed broker; a Mortgage Loan Originator; served as former president of Real Estate Professionals Association; and established his own consulting firm in 2004.
An active member of the community, John is a member of the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce and participates in several Asian ethnic organizations and associations on local and national levels.
Wu married his wife Sunny in 2001 and has a daughter named Daphne. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Taiwan, Wu graduated from college in Austria and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA).
