2022 California SCAL 4-County API Elected Officials Summit

Monterey Park, CA (September 08, 2022) – API Coalition was formed last year to build network, mentoring and mutual support opportunities among API elected officials (and non-profits in the future).  Our goal is to provide opportunities for API elected officials to meet each other for future mutual benefit, leading to more powerful coalition when issues arise and we can act quickly, as well as network that can lead to higher and more powerful positions.

On May 1st, 2022, the API Coalition and Civic Leadership USA (CLUSA) successfully hosted Northern California’s first API elected official summit in Fremont. Over 100 current federal, state, and local API elected officials from 5 counties (San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Contra Costa County, Alameda County, and Santa Clara County) attended the event.   It was the largest gathering of API elected officials in the San Francisco Bay area.  The event videos and photos can be viewed at https://www.apicoalition.org/california-bay-area-5-county-elected-official-summit/

Partnering with the Asian Pacific American Leadership Foundation (APALF), Chinese-American Elected Officials (CEO), and National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), the API Coalition and CLUSA will host the southern California 4-county (Orange County, Los Angeles County, Ventura County and Santa Barbara County) API Elected Official Summit on September 10th 5:00pm at Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Monterey Park.  Event will be on September 10th, 5 PM, at the Monterey Park Courtyard Hotel (flyer attached).  Vice President Kamala Harris will greet us with a welcome video.  Congresswoman Judy Chu, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Controller Betty Yee, State Senator David Min, Assembly members Steven Choi and Mike Fong have confirmed, along with 70+ other API elected officials at all different levels of government.
