The Pure Side of Creating the Evil Outfit

Los Angeles, CA (October 24, 2022) – Talented, brave, successful, yet very humble, those are words that describe the fashion designer who creates unparalleled looks. Exactly 8 years ago, Tomy Huang arrived in Los Angeles from China with one wish: to achieve his ambitious dream of becoming a successful fashion designer. After graduating from two distinguished colleges with bachelors degrees: École Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode (ESMOD Beijing) and Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), the fashion designer knew exactly what he wanted.

In May 2018, Tomy established his own brand based in LA called 212° FUN, which is a contemporary streetwear brand; anyone who likes straps and safety pin accessories will instantly become a fan of this company. In fact, Tomy’s collection is preferred by so many Hollywood and worldwide well known stars. When he was asked why he named the brand 212° FUN, Tomy replied, “212° is the boiling point of water which symbolizes the maximization of energy and ‘FUN’ represents our products’ functionality and interesting characteristics.” Just like in the case of water, the one extra degree makes the difference. Therefore, 212° Fun makes its client different.

However, Tomy’s journey to the heights of his career does not end there. Due to his outstanding performances both in school and in the fashion industry, Tomy teaches at FIDM where he got the opportunity to collaborate with Netflix to create a look for a magician, Kevin Li, whose red carpet outfit was symbolic of the evil school of the movie called The School for Good and Evil directed by Paul Feig. When Tomy was asked what his inspiration was, he said, “Because he’s [Kevin Li] a magician, I just wanted him to do something that’s changeable and recreate the vibe on the carpet.” Similarly, due to his diligence and brilliant craftsmanship, Tomy also got a chance to work with Disney. The goal of the collaboration was to make two looks inspired by Frozen 2 which are on display in Disney Flagship Store Westfield Century City.

So young, but with so much experience, Tomy has become a source of motivation for his students. As it is already clear, with his indescribable gift and talent, Tomy has already become one of the most favorite designers of major Hollywood production companies. Fashion is the designer’s world where he has unlimited opportunities to see and create new things.  (By: Ash Markosyan )
