DEMOCRATS FOR THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS ENDORSES COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR

LOS ANGELES, CA –  Today, the Democrats for the Protection of Animals (DPA) endorsed Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath’s bid for LA County Supervisor. They join a large coalition of state legislators, civil rights leaders, local elected officials, and community activists that are also backing the Councilwoman’s campaign to represent District 3.

“It is extremely important that our elected officials promote the protection and humane treatment of animals through legislation and regulation,” said Democrats for the Protection of Animals President, Jim Jensvold. “Not only is Lindsey Horvath someone who will do just that, but she is also committed to raising awareness and elevating animal welfare issues at the county level. We are proud to endorse Lindsey Horvath for LA County Supervisor.”

Democrats for the Protection of Animals (DPA) is a chartered club within the LA County Democratic Party. DPA develops policy positions on animal issues for lawmakers to adopt. They focus on the humane treatment of animals by promoting the institution of humane legislation and governmental policy and by increasing public awareness of animal protection issues at the city, county, state, and federal levels.

“It’s important that we protect the rights of animals and their environment in LA County. We are lucky to live near beautiful wildlife and experience the love and joy of our animal companions – and we need to show our love by protecting them,” said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “I’m proud of the work and leadership of Democrats for the Protection of Animals, and I look forward to partnering with them when I am Supervisor.”
