KATRINA FOLEY WINS REELECTION TO ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Costa Mesa, CA –  Supervisor Katrina Foley has won her reelection campaign for Orange County Supervisor, securing a four year term representing District 5. Supervisor Foley is the first Democratic woman ever to be elected and the first to be reelected to the Board, following her historic victory in a special election in 2021.

In response to the election results, Supervisor Foley released the following statement:
“Our coalition of unlikely allies worked tirelessly to run a campaign focused on creating solutions for the issues facing Orange County families. I look forward to representing all residents of the Fabulous 5th District on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.”

Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley was historically elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors in a 2021 special election. During her first year on the board, Supervisor Foley has used her decades of local experience to stand up to Sacramento, respond to city needs after years of neglect by her predecessors, and deliver results for our community. Supervisor Foley is seeking re-election in the newly redrawn District 5, which runs from Costa Mesa down the coast through San Clemente.

As the incumbent Supervisor, Katrina Foley is prepared to continue serving the people of Orange County, and ready to build upon the progress she has made thus far. Her accomplishments include: advocating for small businesses, championing climate action, creating solutions to reduce homelessness, improving the access and quality of mental healthcare, and increasing neighborhood safety. Additionally, Supervisor Foley has served as a watchdog over our tax dollars against no bid contracts and successfully improved efficiency throughout county government, while returning over $8 million in property taxes to Orange County homeowners.

Supervisor Foley previously served as the first directly elected Mayor of Costa Mesa, as well as a Costa Mesa Councilmember & Newport Mesa School Board Trustee. In addition to her public service, Foley is a successful attorney and businesswoman. Her regional experience is diverse as she served as Board Member for Travel Costa Mesa, Chair of the Coast Community College Measure M Oversight Committee, and as a director on several regional boards including, the Orange County Women Lawyers Association, Orange County Head Start, Girl Scouts of Orange County, and the Toll Corridor Association. Katrina is President of The Foley Group, A Professional Law Corporation in Newport Beach. The Foley Group, PLC provides services in contract negotiations for artists and athletes, civil business and employment litigation, and non-profit compliance matters. In 2001 and 2004, Katrina was honored by Women in Leadership and the National Association of Women Business Owners’ at the annual Remarkable Women Awards event. Her long history of local leadership also includes serving on the Board of Planned Parenthood of Orange & San Bernardino Counties

Foley currently serves on the County Group Home/Sober Living and Airport Ad Hoc Committees, Fly Friendly working group, and numerous other boards including: the Orange County Transportation Authority, CalOptima, Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council, Law Library, Newport Bay & South Orange County Watershed Management Area Executive Committee & Santa Ana River Flood Control Protection Agency.

Katrina Foley is the wife of over 30 years to a public school teacher, mom of 2 college age sons, older sister to an Army Veteran, and recently built a home in her backyard for her mom and 95 year old grandmother to live in. She enjoys gardening, the beach, and dancing when she ever gets time.
