Hahn Thanks Governor Newsom for Emergency Declaration in Rancho Palos Verdes

Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (September 3, 2024) –Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn expressed her gratitude to Governor Gavin Newsom following his declaration of a state of emergency in Rancho Palos Verdes due to the ongoing land movement crisis affecting the area.

“Thank you, Governor Newsom. This declaration comes just at the right time as people are not only seeing their homes crumble around them, but have now also been cut off from power,” said Supervisor Hahn. “This situation is bigger than the City or even the County. I appreciate the state for recognizing the enormity of this crisis.”

The Governor’s emergency declaration aims to provide additional resources and support to the residents of Rancho Palos Verdes, who have been facing severe challenges due to the accelerated land movement, including the loss of utility services and the potential for further evacuations. Supervisor Hahn emphasized the need for continued collaboration between city, county, and state agencies to address the crisis effectively.
