China-California Business Summit in Los Angeles around the corner
More than 140 Chinese business executives and trade officials are coming to Los Angeles to explore business opportunities at the 2018 California-China Business Summit which will be held on May 3rd.
Industries represented by the delegation include clean-tech, e-commerce, energy, manufacturing, IT, food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, apparel, etc.
This year’s Summit, the third of its kind, is aimed at promoting California’s trade and investment cooperation with Chinese provinces under the framework of a MOU signed by California Governor Jerry Brown and his Chinese counterparts during his trade mission to Beijing in 2013. Governor Brown personally participated in the previous two summits which attracted a total of over 800 business participants.
The Summit will be co-organized by the Milken Institute, CHINAWEEK and China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, and supported by the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), the Los Angeles Regional Export Council, Bay Area Council and Los Angeles Times. Governor Brown has confirmed his attendance this time and will address the luncheon plenary session.
The full-day event will include plenary sessions on trade and investment, breakout sessions on clean-tech, advanced manufacturing, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence, as well as one-on-one match-making opportunities. It is designed to help companies understand the latest information on opportunities and challenges in the dynamic trade relationship and build practical strategies and partnership for shared success between Chinese and California businesses.
Clean-tech companies from the Chinese delegation, like Beijing Jiarui Environmental Protection and Shouhang Resources Saving, are looking for Californian partners in technical and market cooperation; Electric car manufacturer Byton and industrial equipment manufacturer Shanghai Electric would like to share their experiences in the field of advanced manufacturing; Cross-border e-commerce platforms and service providers like YMT Global and Bei Hai International couldhelp local exporters and brand holders to sell their products directly to millions of Chinese customers.
