Los Angeles, CA (February 10th, 2025) – Today, Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and Supervisor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement on the launch of the Disaster CalFresh program by Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS):
“Beginning today, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is offering temporary food assistance through the Disaster CalFresh (D-CalFresh) program to eligible individuals and households who either lived or worked in the impacted fire areas or lost food due to power outages.
The wildfires last month devastated many communities, from immediate areas like Altadena and Palisades to as far as East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley, where residents reported significant losses of food and livelihoods.
I’m proud to see our County departments stepping up to provide an essential safety net as families continue to rebuild and recover.”
Applications for D-CalFresh will be open from Monday, February 10 – Friday, February 14, 2025
and Tuesday, February 18 – Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
