Solis Issues Statement Following the Formation of the Los Angeles County Governance Reform Task Force

The formation marks a significant milestone in the implementation of Measure G in Los Angeles County.

Los Angeles, Calif. – Following the confirmation of the final five members of the Los Angeles County Governance Reform Task Force (GRTF), Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement:

“The formation of Los Angeles County’s Governance Reform Task Force (GRTF) marks a significant milestone in the implementation of Measure G. I am proud of the diverse representation within the Task Force, which is reflective of the many communities throughout Los Angeles County.

The formation of the GRTF further demonstrates how much has been accomplished in the short time since voters approved the ballot measure last November. The effort to ensure a broad range of perspectives—from business, labor unions, local government, unincorporated area representation, and community organizations—reflects Angelenos’ support for an inclusive approach.

It was an honor to appoint Brian Calderon Tabatabai to the Task Force, as he played a pivotal role in the selection of the five at-large members. I’m especially pleased to see the nominations of Nancy Yap, Rosa Soto, and Julia Mockeridge—each of whom will bring an important voice for AAPI communities and unincorporated areas. I look forward to the important work the Task Force will embark upon later this month to bring transparent and meaningful reforms to County governance.”
