Hahn Condemns Friday Morning ICE Sweep at Car Wash in Wilmington

San Pedro, CA – This morning, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn is condemning an ICE sweep in which masked officials were seen chasing and detaining people near the El Dorado Car Wash in Wilmington this morning. ICE agents also handed a printed notice produced by the Department of Homeland Security to a nearby mobile food vendor which includes a warning to undocumented immigrants to self-deport or face consequences.

“This morning masked ICE agents sent by our own federal government descended on Wilmington where people were going about their Friday morning and chased people down and spread fear and propaganda. Families are being robbed of breadwinners, businesses of workers and customers, and our communities are being left afraid and silenced.

This is an attack not only on our communities but on our local economy by the Trump administration. I’m horrified, and I’m tired of being horrified. I’m calling on the federal government to stop these senseless immigrations raids and give our communities a chance to breathe.”
