Arrest made in Rolling Hills Estates fatal stabbing

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. — An arrest has been made in connection with the stabbing death of a woman at a Rolling Hills Estates mall, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department is expected to hold a press conference Friday morning to announce the arrest in the murder.

Little information was released about the person suspected of killing Susan Leeds, whose body was found with multiple stab wounds in her Mercedes-Benz SUV in the parking garage of the Promenade on the Peninsula on the afternoon of May 3.

A man described as a local transient was initially detained as a person of interest in regards to the case on May 4. He was later released and no longer considered a person of interest in the case due to lack of evidence.
