Solis to Host Food Distribution for 2,000 Families in El Monte
EL MONTE, Calif. — On Wednesday, April 29, Los Angeles County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, in partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, will host a large-scale drive-through food distribution serving up to 2,000 families in El Monte from 9 a.m. to noon.
No eligibility requirements are needed to receive food assistance, and distribution will continue while supplies last. This is a drive-through event only; walk-ups will not be permitted.
The rollout of H.R. 1, enacted under the Trump administration last July, continues to affect families who rely on SNAP, known in California as CalFresh. As food costs remain elevated and federal support shifts, local distributions like this one are intended to help address food access gaps and provide support to households facing ongoing economic pressure.
