Josh Newman Earns Support of California Labor Federation in Rematch Campaign for State Senate District 29

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — In the latest indication of his overwhelming support from working people, today U.S. Army veteran, businessman, and former State Senator Josh Newman’s campaign for State Senate District 29 announced that he garnered the endorsement of the California Labor Federation. The CA Labor Federation represents over 1,200 local unions and over 2 million union members.

In a statement released with the announced endorsement, CA Labor Federation Political Director Bryan Blum commented:

“The California Labor Federation is proud to again endorse Josh Newman for State Senate, because we know that he will fight for working men and women in Sacramento. Josh is a smart, indefatigable, and determined leader who represents the common sense approach we need to advance economic development, job creation and creative solutions that help give working families a pathway to the middle class. We look forward to helping Josh return to the Senate and working with him to expand middle-class, union jobs for all throughout California.”

Newman also released the following statement reflecting on the significant endorsement.

“I’m deeply grateful for the confidence placed in me by the membership of the California Labor Federation. This endorsement is immensely encouraging to me. I’m taking nothing for granted in this race as I crisscross the 29th District and meet with grassroots activists, working men and women, and local leaders in all corners and every city, and talk directly about the issues that matter most to people. I look forward to working closely with all of them as we continue to grow our coalition of support in the months ahead.”
