Since 2015, LA County Library has been offering free lunch to kids and teens during the summer months while school is not in session. In these unprecedented times, LA County Library recognizes the importance of supporting its communities. Because more and more parents are working from home and caring for their children, Lunch at the Library helps ensure that families have access to wholesome meals.
“This will be the sixth consecutive year that LA County Library has offered free lunches through this program,” said LA County Library Director, Skye Patrick. “In our ever-changing world, we have to find unique ways to provide for our communities, and I am excited to continue this partnership with the Parks Department to provide these essential services.”
Lunch at the Library is a partnership between LA County Library and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, and is supported by the California Summer Meal Coalition and California Library Association. This program is supported by a grant from the California State Library.
