CLIMATE ACTION CALIFORNIA ENDORSES COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR

LOS ANGELES, CA – Adding to the expansive coalition of environmental advocacy supporters for Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath’s bid to become Los Angeles County Supervisor, Climate Action California has endorsed her candidacy.

“Lindsey Horvath is a consistently strong leader for the environment,” said Janet Cox, Director of Climate Action California. “She has developed a deep understanding of the issues and policies necessary to effectively address climate change. In her work as Mayor, a founding member of the Clean Power Alliance, and a board member of the National League of Cities, she has advocated for net-zero development, protection of open space, and sustainable standards for housing and transportation. Ms. Horvath is a ‘boots on the ground’ problem solver who knows how to get things done.”

Climate Action California is a coalition of climate groups and individuals fighting for science-based solutions to the climate crisis. The organization has thousands of supporters statewide.

“The wide support I have received from my environmentalist friends and allies is a stand against politicians contributing to the climate crisis in exchange for funds from corporate polluters, especially Big Oil,” said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “I am thankful to Climate Action California for their endorsement, and as Supervisor, I look forward to the work that we will accomplish together to take on the injustices of climate change and tangibly see a more sustainable and resilient Los Angeles County.”
