The second of three ChocoLAte evenings features Albert’s Petite Sweets and Sad Girl Creamery
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is proud to present the second installment in the ChocoLAte Talk & Tasting series, “The Chocolate Cure.”
As the second of three evening events designed to further expand upon the ongoing ChocoLAte: From Beans to Bliss online video series, “The Chocolate Cure” will take a deep look at the connections between mental health and chocolate. Featuring an hour-long discussion with Albert Daniel of Albert’s Petite Sweets and SueEllen Mancini, owner of Sad Girl Creamery (and moderated by NHM’s Associate Director of Community Engagement and mastermind behind the Being Los Angeles initiative and ChocoLAte series, Milena Acosta), the trio will share stories of chocolate as a source of comfort and recovery and reflect on their experiences in entrepreneurship and resilience.
With a focus on allowing guests to explore the universal ways chocolate has impacted people’s lives, each guest will also receive a chocolate tasting from Sad Girl Creamery and Albert’s Petite Sweets with admission. While the ChocoLAte video series will continue to share the stories behind these local chocolatiers and influential figures, the Talk & Tasting series presents an opportunity to meet and directly connect with these experts and hear their thoughts on some of the key topics within the industry and community.
In order to continue the celebration of culture, heritage, and history of the people who call L.A. home (even beyond a shared love of chocolate), select first-floor exhibitions will be on view before and after the conversation. Space is limited to approximately 60 guests, with tickets available online now at the link below.
