Medical Asia 2024: 14th Global Medical Service Awards Successfully Concluded

Awards presented to medical institutions across 45 categories at a ceremony held on December 5, 2024, in Seoul, South Korea.

To promote the modernization of medical services across Asia and facilitate the exchange of healthcare and medical aesthetic technologies, the “Medical Asia 2024: 14th Global Medical Service Awards” ceremony and Medical Experts Conference were held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.

According to the Medical Asia 2024 Selection Committee, this year’s event evaluated hospitals with advanced medical services through preliminary research and a survey involving 100 experts across various medical fields. As a result, winners were selected in 45 categories, including professional medical hospitals, health and bio companies, and local government institutions.

The event consisted of two sessions: an awards ceremony in the morning and academic presentations in the afternoon. Distinguished guests included Shi Junfeng, President of the Asian Medical Aesthetic Exchange Promotion Association; Sanghyun Jin, Executive Director of Money Today; and Yoon Jungshin, President of The Korea Daily New York. The event also welcomed 22 influencers from around the world, bringing the total number of participants to approximately 250.

This year’s 14th Medical Asia 2024 awards recognized not only traditional leading hospitals in fields such as cancer treatment, spine and joint care, health check-ups, plastic surgery, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, urinary incontinence, female cosmetic surgery, urology, dentistry, and Korean medicine clinics but also uncovered many emerging institutions. Particularly noteworthy were new advancements in medical technology, such as fat grafting using stem cells, lower extremity vein treatments, pigmentation disorders, chronic pain, and regenerative medicine, which drew significant attention from attending healthcare experts.

In the dentistry category, professional dental clinics specializing in facial asymmetry correction and double jaw surgery, as well as those developing bite adjustment devices to improve dental health, sleep quality, and prevent cranial deformities, stood out and received accolades.

The Korean medicine sector continued to achieve outstanding results, with clinics excelling in areas like constitutional improvement, blood circulation disorders, and obesity management. These clinics further upgraded their treatment programs, securing top honors once again.

Additionally, China’s Changchun Zhongyan Cosmetic Hospital has maintained long-term cooperation with Korea through Medical Asia and has now become a representative cosmetic surgery hospital in Northeast China.

In the bio-health sector, innovative technologies for early cancer detection are emerging. Precision medical techniques for blood cancer and breast cancer, as well as IT-integrated metaverse diagnostic platforms, have been introduced by promising medical companies. Many of these companies, founded by professors from university hospitals, are evaluated as having high potential to grow into global enterprises. Among the highlights of the awards ceremony was an AI-powered health check-up results prediction system, which advises patients on health management and garnered significant interest.

Chullyong Kang, Chairman of the Medical Asia Organizing Committee, expressed his hopes during the event’s closing remarks, stating, “We look forward to seeing the 14th award-winning hospitals and professional medical companies gain global recognition and foster active exchanges with countries across Asia.”
