Police responding to reports of shooter at Los Angeles International Airport
Police are investigating reports of an active shooter at LAX Sunday night but have been unable to confirm that any shooting took place, airport police said.
“Police searching LAX after reports. All precautions being taken to ensure safety of public. Remain calm.,” the Los Angeles Airport Police Department tweeted around 9:15 p.m.
The Los Angeles Fire Department also responded to the scene and tweeted that “no significant incident” has been noted.
Earlier, authorities said they had blocked off the entrance to Los Angeles International Airport Sunday night due to the police activity.
Photos and videos from the chaotic scene appeared to show the airport being evacuated. It was not immediately clear whether the incident has impacted flights.
