“AACYF Cal C 30 under 30” list released, Class of 2019 Elites
“AACYF California Chinese 30 under 30” 2019 list was released by the All America Chinese Youth Federation, LAPOST, Chinese American Institute for Public Diplomacy in Los Angeles on March 19, 2019.
There are 5 categories this year, recipients were selected from crowded candidates. AACYF Cal C 30 under 30 is the only list selecting from Chinese American and Chinese students in California, and it’s the 1st time selection focusing on Chinese American and Chinese students in California, the selection is recognized as the most influential and credible selection for Chinese American start-ups and talented youth elites.

Art, Culture, Science, Sport:
Jera Wang, a Los Angeles Indie-Film Producer, Co-Founder of film distribution company IAMC and film production company Narval Films. Graduated from California State University Fullerton majored in Radio-TV-Film in 2014, and interned at Think Factory Media – a TV & Film production company. In 2016, Jera produced her first romantic comedy feature film Truth or Dare. The film was selected to Chinese American Film Festival, Great Lakes International Film Festival, and was officially elected to Syracuse International Film Festival Honorable Mention Feature. 2018, Truth or Dare was theatrical released in all of the major cities in China. In 2017, Co-founded International Media Company Inc. (IAMC), a film distribution company aiming to bring high-quality Chinese indie films to overseas markets and leading into the world’s largest film trading market – AFM. Especially, IAMC successfully seal the deal for Trek of the Mutants, a Chinese-language content fantasy indie series aired on Amazon Prime Video, Taiwan Hollywood Movie Channel, and to TV channel in Britain and India, and other international top media service provider . In 2018, Co-founded Narval Films Inc., Compare to other major co-production companies,, Narval Films is dedicating in creating stories and focusing on making original-contented films rather than traditional approach. In 2019, Jera produced a short film Pier Las Vegas, and cooperated with Berlin film festival agency – Aug&Ohr that committed to world-famous festival distribution. Together with her team at Narval Films and IAMC, Jera is going to make high quality movies bind with eastern philosophy and western technology in the future.
Hao Zheng is a director, writer with experiences in both China and the US. Hao received his BFA Film Production degree at Emerson College and his MFA Directing degree at the American Film Institute Conservatory. With the support of his mentors Kevin Bright (Producer, Friends) and Julian Higgins (Director, House M.D.), Hao has directed many short films, music videos and commercials with international recognition. He is currently in pre- production for a mini-series and working as a director on the Sina Burning Man Project. Other than directing, Hao has also starred in many renowned Chinese TV shows and films such as KANG XI SI FANG (2013) and LEGEND OF DIDAO (2015).
Jingjue Zhou, sound editor for film and television. She holds BA degree from Fudan Univeristy, top 3 university in China and MFA degree from School of Cinematic Arts, USC, majoring in film production, mentored by Golden Reel Award winner Richard Burton and Academy Award Best Sound Effect Editing winner Stephen Flick. Films she worked on as supervising sound editor has great success in film festivals and internet distributions. “Spring Flower” is gold medal winner in 2018 Student Academy Award, first place winner in DGA student film award and nominee of best short for the Montreal International Film Festival; “To Pimp A Butterfly” has won best short in California International Film Festival, Award of Excellence in Global Shorts and IndieFEST Film Awards, official selection to LA Shorts International Film Festival; “The Silent Scream” premiered in the world most prestigious horror film festival Stiges and is successfully distributed on Amazon Prime Video; “The Lie Game” premiered on the biggest sci-fi channel with 100,000 views in 4 days. Direct/Sound design by Jingjue, “Wulong 2018 Documentary”has achieved 1.4 million viewers on Weibo (social media) and broadcast nationwide on China Central Television. She is also in charge of sound design for Sesame Street interactive media in SeaWorld Orlando, which hosts an estimated 4 million guests annually.
Andrea Shen is a long-time pageant competitor with a decorated resume, placing 1st Runner Up at both Miss California USA 2019 and Miss New York USA 2018 and winning the title of Miss Asia North America 2011. She is a competitive ballroom dancer and two-time winner of the nation’s largest ballroom competition in 2014 and 2015. In addition, her passion for food led her to launch a food blog, which has been recognized and reposted by the Michelin Guide. Andrea graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. degree in Economics in 2016. Andrea is passionate about advocating for diverse representation.
Jianyu Chen, junior student in UCLA majoring in Asian Studies. Founder of RCC-CSSA and Rounki Cycling. Those organization are full of influence and have service a lot of students. At the beginning of July, 2018, he stared cross America along from the end sign of Route 66, Santa Monica, and through Route 66 and Route 20 cross America. Finally he arrived in Boston, MU, finished cross America at 1st, Sep, 2018 as youngest single rider of Chinese cross the U.S.
Quanwei Li, Co-founder and the 2nd President of Berkeley China Summit (BCS). In Oct. 2016, he co-founded the BCS, which based at Berkeley and the Bay Area aims to build a top-class platform for the connection and collaboration of US/China technologies and business. She was one of the members of the 72th General Assembly of the United Nations China Youth Delegation.Besides,she was the visiting researcher in the Harvard Policy and Institutional Research Project under Prof. Richard B. Zhe Wang, founder of PURITY EVENTS, studies at Babson College. PURITY EVENTS is an electronic music startup that develops as a festival organizer, artist agent, music distributor, and ticketing platform. “PURITY EDM TOUR 2018” was the largest-scale summer EDM events which focused among the international student community. It has traveled across five cities and attracted more than 5,000 participants. At the end of 2018, PURITY began to explore and sign original producers and was responsible for artist packaging, performance economy, music distribution and promotion services on mainstream platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, QQ Music, and Netease Music. A year after its founding, PURITY has received funding from Taiyou Fund, Shenzhen Ali Ventures, and Silicon Valley’s famous investor Guo Wei.
Tao Fang received his electronic engineering master degree from the USC Viterbi School of engineering. Tao served as the former vice president of USC Chinese graduate students association and now he is the vice president of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce Youth Association. Tao is also the co-founder of the U.S.-China Filmmaker Association. At present, the association has more than 30 members and has its headquaters located in Los Angeles, Boston, Beijing. Since its establishment in 2017, the U.S.-China Filmmaker Association had cooperated with more than 200 overseas preeminent film talents on multiple film and television projects. Alina Zhang is a freshman at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) majoring in Business-Economics.
