CALIFORNIA PLUMBING AND PIPE WORKERS ENDORSE JOSH NEWMAN FOR SENATE

The California State Pipe Trades Council Endorses Josh Newman for State Senate District 29

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — In a reflection of his extensive support from working men and women, today U.S. Army veteran, businessman, and former State Senator Josh Newman secured a key endorsement from the California State Pipe Trades Council.

In a statement released with the announced endorsement, California State Pipe Trades Council Executive Director Mike Layton commented:

“The California State Pipe Trades Council is proud to endorse Josh Newman in his rematch bid for State Senate District 29. During his time in the State Legislature, Josh was a force on behalf of working families, protecting workers rights, combating income inequality, increasing access to healthcare, backing California’s tough workers’ rights laws, rebuilding our infrastructure to create more good jobs, and fighting for more investments in job-training as well as retirement benefits for working people. We know Josh will be a champion for working families and that’s why he has our full and enthusiastic support.”

Reflecting on the announced endorsement, Newman commented:

“I’m honored and grateful to receive the endorsement of the California State Pipe Trades Council. I’m very proud of the work we accomplished when I was in the State Senate, from expanding access to affordable healthcare; to forward-thinking policies on workers’ rights and investments in infrastructure, to fighting for more good jobs that lift up working families and help to grow our middle-class economy. I’m grateful for their support and confidence, and look forward to continuing to partner with them to fight for an economy that works for every Californian.”
