Intangible cultural heritage items shine at Jinan ancient block

A wide range of intangible cultural heritage items, including shadow puppets, clay rabbit figurines, Lu (Shandong) embroidery artworks, and paper-cuttings, were on sale at the Baihuazhou Historical and Cultural Block in Jinan on April 25.

The display, part of the fourth Shandong Cultural Consumption Season, was hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and attracted a large number of visitors.

The Baihuazhou Historical and Cultural Block, one of Jinan’s top scenic spots, is home to several of the city’s 126 intangible cultural heritage items and traditional handicrafts, as well as nearly 100 practitioners of traditional arts such as shadow puppetry, paper-cutting, wood carving, and clay rabbit making.
