MELISSA FOX OUTRAISES STEVEN CHOI IN AD-68 ELECTION
Irvine Councilwoman Melissa Fox Raises Over $325k in Latest Fundraising Period
IRVINE, CA – Today, Irvine Councilwoman Melissa Fox’s campaign for State Assembly District 68 announced that she raised $329,136 in the second fundraising period of 2020, the most of any Democratic challenger of a Republican State Assembly incumbent.
On the other hand, her opponent, incumbent Steven Choi, raised just $126,000, continuing a trend of Fox significantly outraising Choi. Choi’s fundraising total included a sizeable portion from big oil, tobacco, and insurance companies.
In a statement reacting to the fundraising numbers, Fox commented:
“Over my career in public service, I have demonstrated through my track record of bipartisan accomplishments that I am a leader voters can trust. I’m proud to have raised over $325,000 powered by grassroots leaders and everyday people in this community, because that is how we will restore trust in our democracy and empower working families all across this district. In these uncertain times, residents in the 68th District want committed, common-sense leaders. I’m proud that this is reflected in the fundraising numbers, and I look forward to continuing to share my vision for progress with the voters.”
