Committee of 100 Elects New Chairman and Board Members

New York, NY (May 19, 2021) — At the Committee of 100’s Annual Meeting of Members, a new team of Officers and Directors were elected to lead the organization in 2021 and beyond.

Former Secretary of Commerce, U.S. Ambassador to China, Governor of the State of Washington, and current President of Bellevue College Gary Locke was formally elected as Chairman and takes over from H. Roger Wang effective May 1, 2021.

Serving with Gary on the senior leadership team will be Debra Wong Yang, Partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, who will serve as Vice Chair; John Chiang, Former California State Treasurer, who will serve as Chief Financial Officer; and David Chang, Professor Emeritus at Tandon School of Engineering and New York University, who will serve as Secretary.

In addition to the Officer roles, a series of new Directors were elected to begin their respective terms as Board Members. The Committee of 100 Board has 16 members.

New Board Directors include Gareth Chang, Chairman & Managing Partner of GC3 & Associates International; Bob Lee, Former Chairman of the Board at Blue Shield of California; Brian Sun, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright; Charlie Woo, CEO of Megatoys; and Eric Zheng, Chairman of Heng An Standard Life Insurance Company Limited.
