At the meeting, the members shared their commitment to strengthen the nations’ bilateral partnership and advance shared U.S.-South Korea priorities to help counter threats from North Korea, promote human rights and foster our partnership with key allies for future generations.
“South Korea is an important ally of the United States and a needed partner in countering the threats North Korea has posed to both of our countries,” said Kim. “As an immigrant from South Korea and one of the first Korean American women to serve in Congress, I am honored to have been able to meet with President Moon and share my commitment to him to promote our countries’ shared interests. I will do my part to strengthen legislative priorities and bilateral relationship through my involvement as co-chair of the Congressional Study Group on Korea, US-ROK Interparliamentary Exchange and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.”
