LA County Library to Showcase Newly Refurbished Masao W. Satow Library at Open House on July 29
To celebrate the reopening and refurbishment of Masao W. Satow Library, LA County Library and Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell will host an Open House on July 29, 11 am – 1 pm.
The Open House will feature an outdoor activity for children and teens, a walkthrough of the library’s newly refurbished space, and special messages from Supervisor Mitchell and LA County Library Director Skye Patrick.
Masao W. Satow Library’s refurbishment was made possible by the generous support of the 2nd Supervisorial District Capital Fund. The $1.8 million plus refurbishment project started on September 23, 2019 and was completed on June 6, 2021. The Masao W. Satow Library reopened its doors on June 8, 2021 for select in-person services as part of the Library’s phased reopening, which followed the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
Choi Associates Architects served as the project architect, Angeles Contractor, Inc. served as the project’s contractor, and construction management services were provided by Los Angeles County Internal Services Department. LA County Library staff also played a significant role in the refurbishment and reopening of the Library.
