ELAC Basketball Earns Yearly Honors for 2021-2022 Season

MONTEREY PARK, CA – Both the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams at ELAC found success in the 2021-2022 season. Both made the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Playoffs as well as took home some South Coast Conference-North (SCC) yearly honors as well.
The Men’s team finished the season with 25 wins and 5 losses and their sixth straight SCC-North title. This included a 17 game winning streak that was ended with a loss to West Los Angeles College in the third round of the CCCAA regional playoffs. The Husky men were undefeated at home (8-0) as well as in South Coast Conference play (8-0).
“Proud of this young group. They faced a lot of pressure this season, and we have a lot of freshmen that will return for next season,” said Coach John Mosley.

The ELAC Women’s Basketball team finished their season with 21 wins and 8 losses, finishing second in the SCC-North division. The team made the CCCAA regional playoffs as the 6th seed but lost in double overtime in the sweet sixteen to Moorpark college. This was coming off the game before in which ELAC won on a last-second jump shot from Delilah Kimble-Gray.
“I am very proud of all our players for their accomplishments this season. We were the 6th seed in the playoffs and ranked as the 10th best team in the state of California in the last poll of the season,” said ELAC Women’s Basketball Coach Bruce Turner.
