Public Health Reports 7,924 New Positive Cases and 25 New Deaths Due to COVID-19 in Los Angeles County Since Saturday

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) today released the latest data on COVID-19.

• 7,924 New COVID-19 cases (3,383,792 cases to date)
  • Monday 8/22 – 1,596
  • Sunday 8/21 – 2,627
  • Saturday 8/20 – 3,701
• 25 New deaths due to COVID-19 (33,027 deaths to date)
  • Monday 8/22 – 4
  • Sunday 8/21 – 7
  • Saturday 8/20 – 14
• Hospitalization numbers are unavailable due to the delay in reporting from the California Department of Public Health
• More than 12,434,000 individuals tested; 24% of people tested positive to date

Data is by date reported by DPH, but does not necessarily represent the date of testing, hospitalization, or death.
