NEW POLL: LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR RACE FOR DISTRICT 3 HIGHLY COMPETITIVE

Los Angeles, CA – Today, Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath’s campaign for Los Angeles County Supervisor released new polling data on the landscape for the November 8 election.

Findings from the research are outlined below as well as in this memo.

  • This race is highly competitive: Results show Bob Hertzberg and Lindsey Horvath  tied at 23%. Yet, as 54% of those surveyed remain undecided, this suggests the race is still in its early stages and both candidates must still establish profiles with a majority of voters in the district.

  • Voters prefer Horvath’s background: Horvath’s experience as a “local mayor and city councilmember” is almost three times more preferred compared to Hertzberg’s background as a “member of the State Legislature.”

  • After being presented with positive and negative information about both candidates, Horvath’s favorability significantly increases: After respondents were presented with statements for and against both Hertzberg and Horvath, Horvath took the lead.

The poll was conducted by Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates from August 10-18, 2022. In total, 538 respondents within LA County Board District 3 were reached via cell phone, landline, or online, in both English and Spanish. Due to rounding, some percentages may not sum to 100%.
