Second Round Added for Take Action for Mental Health L.A. County Community Grant Opportunity
Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and California Mental Health Services Authority Seeking Applications for community programs and events that increase awareness of mental health services and resources and decrease stigma during May Mental Health Awareness Month and into June 2023
LOS ANGELES — A second round of the Take Action for Mental Health L.A. County grant program seeking proposals for events and programs that will promote well-being and community connection in Los Angeles County during May Mental Health Awareness Month and through June 2023 is now open and available for applications. Grants are being offered by Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) in collaboration with the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) and are made possible through the CA Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Prevention and Early Intervention funding.
The grant program is seeking programs to coincide with May Mental Health Awareness Month and foster community connection as a part of LACDMH’s Take Action for Mental Health L.A. County campaign. Events submitted for consideration should take place during the months of May and June 2023, and focus on decreasing stigma and discrimination, increasing help seeking behaviors, increasing awareness of and access to mental health services and resources or any activities that address one or more negative effects of untreated mental illness.
Grants will be awarded to organizations that promote mental health and well-being through community engagement. Grant proposals must be submitted through CalMSHA’s e-procurement portal at https://calmhsa.bonfirehub.com
Proposals for Round 1 are being accepted now through March 6, 2023, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Round 1 grantees will receive initial payment on March 24, 2023.
Proposals for Round 2 are being accepted now through March 17, 2023, 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Round 2 grantees will receive initial payment on April 3, 2023.

- Non-profit agencies
- For-profit agencies
- Faith-based organizations
- Schools
- Other entities dedicated to carrying out diverse community engagement efforts to help promote stronger community ties and civic engagement
