LA County Parks Transforms its Parks for Trick or Treat Village and Day of the Dead Festival this Fall Season

Trick or Treat Village provides a spooktacular Halloween celebration

Day of the Dead Festival is a cultural celebration to honor our dearly departed

 

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 16, 2023) — The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation invites the community to join in celebrating two Fall Season favorites: Trick or Treat Village and Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead Festival. Events will be held across select parks.

“LA County Parks is committed to safe, fun and free events all year long for youth and families,” said Norma García-González, Director of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation. “As the fall season kicks in, we continue to celebrate the diversity of Los Angeles County in our programming to unite the community with our Trick or Treat Villages and Day of the Dead Festivals across our LA County Parks.”

The Trick or Treat Village will run from October 24 to October 31 at select LA County Parks. These events will offer a wide range of programming including movie nights, pumpkin carvings, spooky storytelling, games and more! Come in costume and bring the whole family along.

The Día de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead Festival, is a Latin American tradition which celebrates and honors the lives of the dearly departed in our community. These celebrations will feature art installations, colorful marketplaces, live music, altar decorating contests, food vendors and much more. The Day of the Dead festivities will take place on November 1 and November 2 at select LA County parks. Programming may vary per park.
