LACMA Tamayo Exhibit Celebrates Mexican Culture
L.A. County Fair-goers and art lovers – prepare to be dazzled! In partnership with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Fair is proud to present an art exhibit celebrating the work of one of Mexico’s most revered artists, Rufino Tamayo. Titled Rufino Tamayo: Innovation and Experimentation, the exhibit is concentrated on Tamayo’s fascination with prints as he looked for ways to explore new techniques and further his experimentation, featuring 20 original Tamayo works (including lithographs, woodcuts, etchings, and Mixografia), and five examples of Mesoamerican sculpture, which were a source of inspiration for the artist. The Tamayo exhibit is on display from May 3 to 27, in the Fair’s Millard Sheets Art Center.
