About the Event: Due to strong demand, the Asian Industry B2B is now expanding its brand to the South Bay. AIB’s success comes from engaging 2nd generation Asian Americans and being ahead on the curve in areas of charity, political activism and media issues. AIB cordially invites business leaders to attend the launch, featuring George Chen, candidate for Torrance City Council, who would be the only Asian representative on the City Council if elected. Currently, no Asian Americans serve on that council. This meet and greet will also feature Betty Tom Chu, former Mayor of Monterey Park and co-founder of East West Bank.
AIB’s monthly mixers in the San Gabriel Valley have had a consistent attendance of around 70 to 200 firms and professionals. In April over 75 people came to hear the Honorable Ling Ling Chang, former Assemblywoman and Mayor of Diamond Bar, hosted by the Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union. The AIB2B March Mixer, sponsored by Wells Fargo, featured Betty Tom Chu, and attracted almost 200 people. Those in attendance included many influential political and community leaders.
About Asian Industry B2B (AIB2B): AIB was founded by community leader, Marc Ang, for
businesses and professionals in the east San Gabriel Valley to gather once a month, every second Wednesday. The mission is to build an intimate network of quality professionals engaged in charity, cultural and political activities, to foster meaningful collaborations, enrich business owners’ lives and support a platform to elevate the Asian American community through local business leaders, with a special emphasis on bridging first and second generations.
